Once in a while we find ourselves
Once in a while someone finds us
Plodding along, with no place to go and nowhere to be,
But they find us.
We slide along the surface, slime over glass
Passing over beauty and wonder alike,
Watching through a blurry lense from a hundred miles away
But they find us
Taking what is given and giving what they'll take,
Making the least of the most and sometimes the most of the least,
We trudge through imaginary muck, trapped in our own minds
But they find us
At once awake and asleep, knowing and unknowing,
Our plotless, pointless journey continues
Pressing forward undauntedly into the roiling grey mis
Each and Every Day,
Seulement tu qui as la cle,
I see you standing next to me,
Pres de moi dans tout ma vie,
When I look at you it's easy to see,
Il n'y a pas de raison d'etre polie,
And even though you make me crazy,
J'espere que tu est dans tout ma vie,
I see in your eyes, our love is rare, my mari,
Et toi, je t'aime avec tout ma coeur, ma cherie.
Let me be your super hero,
Let me be your shining star,
Let me be the light that guides you,
Let me hold you in my arms.
Let me be your strong protector,
Let me be your cradled child,
Let me deep inside your heart,
Hide me from the cold and wild.
Let me be your true companion,
Let me be right by your side,
And let us walk and laugh together,
Hand in hand, as one in stride.
Coming down out of the storm,
Riding straight into the blight,
Ominously looming into the distance,
With no easy path in sight.
With two words and a contraction you change that,
"It'll be alright," you whisper in my ear,
You seem to live in the back of my head,
And help make everything clear.
As shades on a bright summer morning,
The storm clouds are suddenly lifted,
Replaced by a radiant warmth,
That easily lets my mood be shifted.
Where once there was ruin and devastation
Of a desolate impassable land,
I now see unending hilltops,
My foe defeated by an invisible hand.
And when I think back upon it,
To try and find what help
A single tear I shed tonight;
For the single moment's sparkle in your eyes, now only a memory.
For the brush of grace left on my lips by yours, only minutes ago I could feel them.
For the stretching glance over my shoulder as the door slowly pushed you out of view.
For the slow falling of my shoulders as I embraced the cold.
For the hour of emptiness that should have been filled with your face.
For the long drive home, listening to your music because I miss you.
For the lonely gaze into the moon's ever watchful eye,
Thankful and wishful in the same instant.
A single tear to hold it all.
Like wonderful music, with that special quality that sends shivers down your spine and seems to invade your mind, causing every single thought to vibrate in time with the music.
Like a gentle, cool breeze blowing through your hair as you lay lazily in a hammock in late spring, eyes closed, letting the sun wrap you in it's comforting blaze.
Like watching a lone butterfly float listlessly from flower to flower, picking the nectar that will taste the sweetest, completely at its convenience.
Like a ray of sunlight bravely piercing the clouds of a mighty thunderstorm, creating an awe-inspiring beauty within another beauty.
Like the feeling of
I bought you a ticket to the theatre today,
To a show I thought you'd like to see.
It's called "The Future" and It's supposed to be a good one,
I reserved you the seat right next to me.
The critics say it's not one genre,
But all of them wrapped up tight.
They say it even has some horror,
But I'll hold your hand and make sure you're alright.
They say this play is a must see,
But honestly I don't even have a clue.
I hope you'll come and see the Future with me,
Because I only want to see it, with you.
I remember a day, not too long ago.
I was walking down the streets of my life,
Enjoying things for the most part,
But I seemed to know there was something missing.
I strolled down the street, passing people as I went.
Some of them walked with me a step or two,
Some just gave me a passing smile,
But I remembered ever face.
In an instant, everyone vanished from sight.
My world was centered on a single streak of light reaching skyward.
I followed it up, as it reached incredible heights,
Just as it faded from sight, it was reborn in an incredible flash of light.
After the firework's color faded, the people of the street slowly faded
One person holds the key to the inner sanctum.
One person knows where to find the door.
One person knows how to enter.
No other may slip inside.
One person sees the window.
One person can look inside.
Only one person has truly seen me.
No one else has opened my eyes.
And there, in the deepest part of what I call myself, that one person holds me and keeps me and shows me all that is good.
And I am happy.
A shadow creeps in around the edges
Pushing the light in, crowding it in,
Forcing it in, until the space is overcome.
The light converges onto itself, onto its source.
It seems the battle has been lost, but a moment,
A pause that seems to last a hundred years,
And the light begins to refill the space,
The warmth begins to return,
Every corner and distant reach,
Finally cleansed of shadow.
All is well…
But the shadow lurks just out of sight.
A walk…alone with the night
Embraced by the darkness
Comforted by it's cold touch
Will soothe the hurt
The same walk with the night
Isolated in its harsh distaste
Shunned from its dark arms
Can corrode any shred of happiness
The stars…they seemed to look down
They seemed to feel pity
They seemed to feel the pain
They seemed to comfort.
In the next instant, those stars, that seemed to look down
They seemed to afford no anguish to a mere mortal
They seemed to float above it all
They seemed to revel in the pain.
The night holds
The night caresses
The night warns
And the night can bring out the worst.
These are the wonders of
Breathe in
Breathe out
Another breath without you
Look around
My environs
Surrounded by the dull
Close my eyes
Think to myself
If only you were here
Increase the volume
Wrap myself in longing
Wait for the moment…
Steps bring us together
I look down
You look up
Everything is right, that's how it's supposed to be.
I smile
Take you in my arms
Pull you close
You're right where I want you to be.
You lean back
Look up again
Smile
You are more beautiful than I could remember you to be
Joy flows through me
I cannot speak
My mouth is bewitched
An attempt comes out quite unlike it was meant to be
I lean down
Kiss you
Your eyes are beautiful in the night.
I drift listlessly, floating in the sea of the night
I search the horizon for any sign of change
All is as it has been; dark, dull, and dismal
I lower my head once more, dismayed by the same sight that has dismayed me for an eternity.
I sit, knowing that this place I have come to is a place people search for
I sit, feeling lucky to have found this place
I long to leave the arms of this dark place, to return to the arms of my love
Out of the corner of my eye, I spot a glimmer on the horizon
My heart races, my muscles tense, everything inside me seems to be searching for a way out
I long to feel your touch, your arms holding m
It takes so much,
To look into your eyes,
To feel you so close to me,
To love you as much as I do,
and know I have to go.
It takes so much,
To hug you one last time,
To hold you that much tighter,
To know how much I'm going to miss you,
and slowly back away from you.
It takes so much,
To sit down behind the wheel,
To look at you and know you're looking at me,
To feel the feeling you give me slowly fade,
and turn the key.
And it takes so much more,
To put my foot down,
To pull away trying to keep my eye on you,
and drive off into the night.
I have traveled far into this land of incredible abundance.
Fruit of every kind, growing on bush or tree.
Game almost submitting themselves to you,
As if they know they are going on to a greater cause.
I have traveled deep, and seen the inside of this land.
Where all around you is harmony.
Or so it seems
I have traveled to the most inner reaches of this land.
And seen the desolute wastes that seem to spring up,
As if a product of the near perfection which surrounds them,
A twisted corruption of the beauty from which it was born.
I have seen these swamps, deserts, wastelands.
I have thrown all my might into an effort to change the
